Patton, Albertson & Miller’s 2024 Team Day

Patton, Albertson & Miller’s 2024 Team Day

Patton, Albertson & Miller held its annual “Team Day” retreat on Good Friday at The Read House Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. The program and was led by Dan Purdue of Level 12, a world leader in engaging and developing high performing people. Level 12 has guided programs for companies across the United States including Coca-Cola, Hewlett Packard, Target, Johnson & Johnson, Google, Facebook, Salesforce, and, of course, Patton, Albertson, & Miller.

During this half-day retreat, our team delved into topics including the driving force behind all human behavior, how top performers build mental and emotional strength, and the real key to self-motivation. The capstone of the program involved dividing the 23 participants into five teams, each of which were tasked with assembling a bicycle straight from the box.

The teams quickly learned they would face a few challenges with the task at hand. As that reality sunk in, the teams began to work together and think of creative ways to solve these problems. Impressively, all five teams overcame the challenges and completed their bikes ahead of schedule. Finally, they were given one last task of creating a bicycle marketing campaign with a compelling story.

After the bikes were assembled, five children and three leaders from The Boys and Girls Club of Chattanooga were invited into the room. The program participants gleaned information about the incredible work being done by the local chapter of this organization. Then, each child was surprised with a new bicycle, helmet, and lock. It was an emotional moment for Patton, Albertson & Miller, The Boys and Girls Club of Chattanooga, and five very excited children. There were quite a few tears shed as the act of giving perfectly illustrated the most important principle of the day– that high performing people give of themselves with passion and purpose.
